Volkswagen announced that the C Coupe GTE concept will go into production next year, but it will be available exclusively for the Chinese market.
The model will be available exclusively with a plug-in hybrid set, that combined a 2 liter TSI petrol engine, with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which features an electric motor.
The petrol engine produces 210 hp, while the electric motor produces 91 kW (124 hp). Together the system delivers 245 hp with 500 Nm torque. The car is able to do the 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, having a top speed of 232 km/h.
It has an electric range of 50 kilometers at speeds up to 130 km/h, with a total range of more than 800 km. It also has an average consumption of 2.3 liters/100 km and it emits 55 gr/km of CO2.
