Volkswagen presented the Sport Coupe Concept GTE. The model is intended to be the replacement pf the Passat CC, but other than that, it is a foretaste of the future design of all Volkswagen models.

The prototype is based on the MQB platform of the VW Group and it is bigger than the current CC in each dimension other than the height. It also has a longer wheelbase and the liftback design, reminds us of the Audi A7.
The Sport Coupe Concept GTE, is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system that consists of a turbocharged 3 liter V6 petrol engine combined with two electric motors and a 6-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. The petrol engine delivers 295 hp and 500 Nm of torque which is passed to the front wheels, one of the electric motors produces 54 hp and it is built into the gearbox and the other one produces 114 hp, which is to the rear wheels.

The combined performance of the powertrain, is 374 hp and according to Volkswagen, the concept is capable of doing the 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds and it has a top speed close to 250 km/h. It has an electric range of 51 kilometers while its total autonomy reaches 1200 km.
The interior is as futuristic features a 12.3 inch screen, which acts as the instrument board, while the center console features a 10.1 inch screen. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the navigation system interacts with a smart watch to “read” the mood of the owner and to choose the best route.
