Yamaha VMAX Yard Built Infrared

To celebrate 30 years of the first appearance of the VMAX, Yamaha gave to JvB (a motorcycle modifications firm), a bike that was transformed to the “Infrared”.

The VMAX went down in history for its brute strength, but also for its style, its design and its performance.

The vision of JvB for the VMAX series Yard Built (series of improved motorcycles Yamaha, presents in collaboration with renowned tuners) was to transform the production bike in a radical creation that oscillates between two worlds, the cafe-racer and the dragster. Another key point in the effort of the tuners was to transfuse some elements of the first edition of VMAX in a special motorcycle.

Starting from the front, the bike features a handmade is the aluminum wing, while above it there is a carbon projector, trademark of JvB. Impressive carbon caps on wheels, remind us of the respective racing track bikes. The tank cover is custom-made using carbon fiber, while below the JvB has placed an improved air filter, which is combined with unique aluminum airways modulated onto the stock airways of the original VMAX.

The subframe is aluminium and it is handcrafted. Behind the handmade Bobtail there  is carbon, in the characteristic style of JvB, while the saddle is strictly for one person. The bike features Termignoni exhausts and it is painted in retro, based on the GP team colors of Yamaha in 1985.
