The Cobra Jet was not in Ford’s plans, but a representative of the company, called Bob Tasca, wanted to create a faster version of the supercharged 390 Mustang, so he demand the help of the engineer John Healey and thus was born the first Ford Mustang Cobra Jet.

Ford liked the car so much, that they decided to send it into a limited production of 50 units. The car is going to be auctioned by Mecum Auctions and it is estimated to reach a price close to $130,000.
