The Lancia LC2 that you see in the picture below was participating in endurance races, which became very popular in the 80’s, with the legendary Group C. Abarth and Dallara designed the aluminium monocoque chassis of the car and Ferrari provided the engine for it, which was the known twin turbo V8 that was equipped on the 288 GTO and F40.

The LC2 was introduced in 1983 and joined the factory team of Martini Racing in 1986, participating in 51 races, winning three of them, and scoring 13 pole positions and 11 fastest laps. So you can understand that it was very fast, but it had reliability problems, something that makes it very ideal for trackday car. After 1986 it continued to race in private hands and her career ended in the early 90s with the abolition of Group C.

This car has a chassis number 0009 and it will be auctioned in Milan next month by RM Sotheby’s, that expects it to reach a selling price between €240,000 and €280,000.
