Subaru and Toyota agreed to design, develop and build together the new generation of the BRZ and GT-86. This was confirmed by the president of Subaru Yasuyuki Yoshinaga who said that for the moment they have not decided the timing of when the two models will go in production.

The GT-86 facelift is coming in the next few months and rumors say that new models will be presented sometime in 2018 and that they will remain rear wheel drive. Yoshinaga added that for this year, Subaru will have record sales, since they managed to sell more than 1.1 million cars worldwide.
