Ford will extend the production of the new GT for two more years. The production of the car will continue at the same slow pace of 250 cars per year, or about one car for every working day.
Dave Pericak, head of Ford Performance said
We can not produce enough GTs to thank all applicants, but loyal Ford’s ambassadors will be rewarded.
In two years the company is going to produce an additional 500 Ford GT and the application process for the car will be repeated in 2018. If you are interested, then you should have the amount of $400,000 that will be requested by Ford, for the car.
For the first batch of 500 vehicles, Ford got 6506 request. For the next 500, the number of applicants will depend on the reviews of the car.
