Alfa Romeo unveiled their long-awaited SUV. The Stelvio, the first SUV of the Italian company is based on the Giorgio platform that is used by the Giulia. It will be manufactured at the factory of the company in Cassino near Rome and in design it differs slightly from the Giulia, since they have many common elements.
Its rear has a sharply sloping roofline, with the Quadrifoglio version to be the main competitor of the Mercedes-AMG GLC63, BMW X3 M and Jaguar F-Pace SVR.
Mechanically among the available engines we find four-cylinder 2.0-liter and 2.2 liter petrol and diesel engines, while later will a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel with an aluminium block will be added to the range. The Stelvio QV is equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 510 hp with 600 Nm of torque that enables it to do the 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds, with its top speed reaching 284 km/h.
The production of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio will start towards the end of the year, with its deliveries starting from the middle of next year.
