Chevrolet presented the new Equinox that has a new look and an improved interior. The model weighs 181.4 kilos less, reaching a total weight of 1509 kg.
Stylistically the new Equinox has a new grille, new bumpers, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, while its interior features a leather upholstery, the myLink infotainment system with a touch screen of 7 or 8 inches that supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Mechanically it is available with a 2-liter turbo petrol engine producing 152 hp with 353 Nm of torque and a 1.6-liter diesel producing 136 hp with 320 Nm of torque. The power is transferred to the front or all wheels through mechanical and automatic transmissions.
In terms of security systems, the new Equinox has a Forward Collision Alert system with a Following Distance Indicator, the Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert. Sales of the car will begin in the US in the first quarter of 2017.
