Skoda released the first pictures of the interior of the new Superb, which will make its official debut at Geneva in early March.

The interior features a three-spoke steering wheel, black glossy decorations, large 8 inch touch screen infotainment system, leather upholstery, chrome decorations, DSG gearbox, the start/stop system and the electric parking brake.

Skoda, describes the third generation of the Superb, as “the best Skoda in history.” The car is based on the MQB platform of the VW Group and promises to bring a higher quality and technology to its class, that until now belonged to higher classes.

The car is longer by 20 mm and wider by 50 mm compared to the model it replaces, while its wheelbase will be increases by 80 mm. Despite the increase in volume, it will be and about 75 kilos lighter. The luggage space will reach 625 liters and when the backs of the rear seats are folded, it can reach 1,760 liters.

It will be available with a 1.4 liter engine with 125 hp and a 1.8 liter TSI with 260 hp, while it will also be offered with a 1.6 liter and a 2 liter  diesel engine with 120 and 190 hp respectively.

Rumors say that there will also be a plug-in hybrid version, equipped with a 1.4 liter TSI, which will be combined with an electric motor for a combined yield of 210 hp, with a consumption close to 2 liters per 100 km. The car will be available from mid-2015 with prices to be announced later.
