These are the first pictures of Opel Karl, the new model of Opel. The new Opel small city car has small front and rear lights and fog lights. It will be presented at the Geneva motor show, next March and it will replace the Agila. Its length is 3.68 meters and it will go on sale in the summer of 2015, having characteristics like the Adam, but in a more practical and affordable package.
It will be built on the same platform as the next generation of the Chevrolet Spark, having a total length of 20mm less than the Adam. Mechanically iw will be available with a range of three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines, between which there will be a three-cylinder 1 liter gasoline engine producing 115 hp with 166 Nm of torque.
Initially it will be available the 1 liter Ecotec engine producing 75 hp, combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. It will feature Hill Start Assist, Lane Change Notification System and a function that makes the wheel lighter in the city.
The car is a 5-port, and in Germany it will cost less than €10,000. Note that the model did not get its name from the CEO of Opel, Karl Thomas Neumann, but from one of the sons of Adam Opel.
