The CEO of Lotus, Jean-Marc Gales in a recent interview announced that Lotus will send to production an SUV, which will be addressed to a big market and it will have good sales.
The company has recently started the process of development of the car, with Gales indicating that the car will be a real Lotus and that it will be the first truly lightweight SUV. The car will feature an aluminum body and it will have similar dimensions to the Macan, but will be at least 200 kilos lighter.
The model will be released after 2018 and it will be manufactured in China, where it will be sold exclusively in the beginning.
