Lotus presented the Cup version of the Elise S. The model is described by the company itself as a track car for the road, with the design, clearly inspired by the racing Elise S Cup R.
The aerodynamic body kit of the car, includes a front splitter, small spoilers front and behind the front wheels, fixed roof, one big spoiler and an equally large rear diffuser. Thanks to these modifications, the aerodynamically generated downforce is increased by 66 kg at 160 km/h and by 125 kg at the car’s top speed at 225 km/h.
In addition to the styling/aerodynamic improvements the Elise S Cup comes with a “T45 specification” roll bar, allowing a future positioning of racing seatbelts or a full roll cage. The electrical system of the model is also different to allow easier equipment mounting such as a kill-switch or the extinguishing system.
The car is equipped with a 1,8 liter supercharged, four-cylinder engine that delivers 217 hp and 249 Nm of torque and it is combined with a 6-speed, manual transmission. Consequently, the 932 kg car accelerates to 96 km/h from standstill in 4.2 seconds and it has a top speed of 225 km/h. It is worth mentioning that the Cup version is three seconds faster on the track at Hethel than the standard Elise S.
The Lotus Elise S Cup is already available for order with its price starting from £43,500 in the United Kingdom or €56.525 in Germany.
