One day before the official testing of the 919 Hybrid on January 18 at Yas Marina Circuit, Porsche has announced that the renewed for the 2015 LMP1 race car, made its debut on the track at Weissach on December 15, 2014.
As the company says, the 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid is an important development of the already successful, last year racing car. It uses the same innovative drivetrain consisting of a turbocharged, two-liter, V4 petrol engine, and an electric motor that drives the wheels of the front axle and two energy recovery systems.
The Technical Director of the LMP1 program of Porsche, Alexander Hitzinger has stated that this year’s 919 Hybrid is improved in almost everything. The first race of the World Endurance Championship will take place at Silverstone, England, on April 12.
