Volkswagen announced that they are recalling 420,000 cars in the US due to a possible problem in the driver’s airbag. The recall affects the Passat produced from 2010 to 2014, the Eos and Jetta produced between 2010 and 2013, the CC MY2010-2014, the Jetta SportWagen produced from 2011 to 2013 and the Golf and Golf GTI produced in 2011 to 2014.

The recall is done due to a potential short-circuit, that can occur in the cable of the airbag, which can lead to non-functioning of the airbag in an accident. So far there has been no injuries or accidents associated with the problem.
