The Jaguar E-Type is certainly the most iconic Jaguar ever built. The fact that the Enzo Ferrari himself called it “the most beautiful car ever” says a lot, about the indelible mark the car left on the automobile history.

The car that you see in the main picture is a Series 3 1972 E-Type equipped with the legendary Jaguar V12 engine of 5,3 liters, producing 254 hp. This was the third and last “facelift” of the model , that as a whole was produced for 15 years, from 1961 to 1975.

The car was purchased in November of 1972 from a man at Carlisle in northern England and in 1982 it was bought by another person and it sat for 25 years in the garage. In 2007 it came out of the garage to and was gifted to the son of the family, who decided to sell it to someone who can restore it.

The car has 43,285 miles on the odometer and it will be auctioned on 24 September by Car Classic Auctions, with its expected price being between $35,000 and £40,000. The car would really be a good restoration project for anyone having the time and money, you can see its listing, here.
