Hyundai at Geneva, presented the new i20 coupe, i30 Turbo, i40 facelift and the new Tucson, while at their booth there is also the i20 WRC.

Geneva Motor show 2015 Hyundai's boothThe i20 Coupe features a more aggressive and attractive design, with the slopes of the front and rear pillars to provide a more dynamic profile. The end of the roof is 25 mm. lower and the car also has a rear spoiler, new front bumper featuring a larger air intake, 17 inch wheels and larger rear lights.

The luggage space has grown by 10 liters, reaching now 336 liters. Mechanically there are no differences and the Hyundai i20 Coupe will be available with the same engines as the hatchback, among which is a 1.4 liter with 100 hp and 134 Nm torque. The smaller gasoline engines will be combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while all other engine with a 6-speed gearbox.

Geneva Motor show 2015 Hyundai's boothThe i30 Turbo is equipped with a 1.6 liter turbo engine producing 186 hp with 265 Nm of torque, combined with a six-speed transmission, which enables the car to do the 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, having a top speed of 219 km/h.

The car features a suspension, which has been reconfigured for better grip, steering wheel which is configured to work seamlessly with the 18 inch alloy wheels. Stylistically the car features a more aggressive body kit with more new bumpers front and rear, side skirts, bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, while there is also a double exhaust tailpipe. The interior features new bucket seats, leather upholstery with contrasting stitching, a black roof and a new dashboard.

Apart from the i30 Turbo, Hyundai also presented the i30 facelift, that features a new hexagonal front grille, new designs for the wheels and new colors, including Jet Black, Orange Caramel and Polar White. The i30 will be available with a 1.6 liter diesel engine producing 110 and 136 hp, the torque in both cases reaches 280 Nm.

This torque is available when the car is fitted with the standard six-speed manual transmission, meanwhile when it is combined with the 7-speed automatic the torque reaches 300 Nm. Besides the above engine, it will be available with atmospheric engines of 1.4 liters producing 100 hp with 134 Nm of torque and 1.6 liters producing 120 horses with 156 Nm of torque.

The revamped i40 features new lights, the typical hexagonal grille and a new front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights. Hyundai also offers alloy wheels of different designs with diameters of 16 to 18 inches.

The range of engines of the i40 facelift, consists of two diesel engines, both have a capacity of 1.7 liters with the first to deliver 115 hp and 280 Nm of torque and the second, 141 hp and 340 Nm of torque. The most powerful of the two, will be available with a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Hyundai has improved and the handling of i40 with a system called Advanced Traction Cornering Control. This system uses the data it gets from sensors to simulate the operation of a limited slip differential improving traction during cornering. Otherwise, the i40 facelift is equipped with a variety of passive and active safety systems such as the Smart High Beam system that automatically adjusts the high beam of the car depending on the passing vehicles, the Speed Limit Identification which recognizes speed limit signs by the side of road and shows them on new TFT screen of the dashboard.

Finally Hyundai also presented the new Tucson, which will be available in a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid version. The design of the new Korean crossover is bold, and borrows several elements from the Santa Fe. It has the characteristic hexagonal grille, chrome details and thin lights incorporating LED daytime lights, while its profile is more aggressive thanks to the sloping roof.

The interior features upgraded materials, equipment and a large touch screen. The leather steering wheel is filled with buttons on both sides, while there are chrome details on the doors. The optional equipment features heated and ventilated seats for the front passengers, while the tailgate has a large opening, providing easy access to the 513 liter capacity boot of the car.

The car is bigger, following an upward trend in length and width, while the height is smaller. Mechanically, the new model, of the Korean company will be equipped with an atmospheric 1.6 liter GDI engine producing 135 hp, which will be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. The turbo version of the engine will produce 176 hp and in addition to the aforementioned case there will be a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. In terms of diesel engines, the Tucson will feature a 1.7 liter engine with 117 hp, combined with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 2 liter engine delivering 184 hp

The power is transferred to either the front or all wheels. The car features the Smart Parking Assist, the Autonomous Emergency Braking, the Lane Keeping Assist System, the Rear Traffic Cross Alert, the Blind Spot Detection, the Speed Limit Information Function and the Active Bonnet System, which automatically lifts the hood to reduce the severity of a frontal collision.

The hybrid plug-in Tuscon will be equipped with a 1.7 liter CRDi diesel producing 115 hp and an 68 hp electric motor, combined with a battery of 10,7 kWh. It will have an average fuel consumption of 1.8 liters/100 km and emissions of 48 g/km CO2. The plug-in hybrid Tucson will have an electric autonomy of 50 km.

The hybrid version on the other hand, combines a 2.0 liter gasoline engine and a small electric motor of only 14 hp with a 48 Volt lithium-ion battery. This system costs only 1/4 compared to the plug-in hybrid.
