The CEO of Lotus, Jean-Marc Gales, while talking about future cars of the company, he said that Lotus has on its future plans an SUV, with the decision whether the car will go in production, to be taken this year.

There is the option for a sporty four-door sedan, but the SUV is more likely, since it is aimed at a greater market and it has better prospects in terms of sales.
Gales added that if the SUV gets the green light, then not only will it “reinvent the category”, but the car will be “very fast on the track, offering excellent grip.” The model is not expected to be released earlier than 2017, with Giles stating that the Elise and Exige will acquire sporty versions as the Evora 400.
