Subaru Tecnica International (STI), the racing branch of Subaru, presented today in Japan a limited production model, which is based on the WRX S4. This special model is called WRX S4 tS and it will be available from now until 12 March of 2017.
The “tS” on its name means, tuned by STi. The model that was presented in August as a Concept, is equipped with a 2-liter boxer engine which produces 300 hp at 5,600 rpm with 400 Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm. The power is transferred to all four wheels via a CVT gearbox, with its total weight reaching 1,550 kilos.
The car features Bilstein shock absorbers front and rear, tuned by STI, 19 inch BBS wheels with 255/35 tires and Brembo brakes measuring 17 inches at the front with four-piston calipers.
The WRX S4 tS features also a new grille, a new large rear spoiler, a black antenna and a new rear bumper. Its interior has a leather steering wheel and gear shift knob, Recaro bucket seats and red STI logos.
The car is available in four colors (WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic and Crystal Black Silica) and finally, the Japanese company also offers the NBR Challenge Package, which celebrates the victory of the company in the SP3T class in 2015 and 2016 in the 24-hour race of Nurburgring.
The price of the car is ¥4,968,000 for the “simple” version and ¥5,292,000 for the WRX S4 tS with the NBR Challenge package.
